  7. Examine assessment theory and practice.
  8. Demonstrate comprehension of school funding at the federal, state and local level.
  9. Identify how culture, socialization, ethnocentrism, and cultural relativism affect teachers, students, and schools in the US.
  10. Identify language and literacy concepts as they relate to students from many cultures and language backgrounds.
  11. Demonstrate the ability to incorporate technology in classroom settings.
  12. Demonstrate comprehension of what is required to become a teacher in the state of Colorado.
  13. Demonstrate oral and written proficiencies through class activities and assignments.

Course Time Commitment and Expectations

Three Credit Course

The semester schedule for this course may be 15 weeks, 10 weeks, or 6 weeks in duration. Based on the course format, this table shows the approximate amount of time you should plan to spend per week on this course. This includes time to read/listen to the online content, participate in discussion forums, complete all assignments, and study the course material.

For accelerated courses, the amount of time required per week is greater. Note that regardless of course format, the course material is the same and all course competencies, module outcomes, and assignments will be covered.
